For the GMTK game jam!

If you run into issues playing this in-browser, try enabling WebGL and disabling "resist fingerprinting" in your browser settings.

A puzzle/optimization/automation game where you cobble together unnecessarily intricate music boxes.

Controls

  • Left click - place object
  • Right click - remove object
  • left/right arrows, A/D, or Q/E - change what object you're placing
  • R - rotate object you're placing

Current features: 8 levels, 2 instrument blocks, and sandbox mode.

In-depth game explanation:

There is a grid on the left that you can place pieces of the music box into. The black arrows move around and hit stuff, the other pieces get hit and make sounds.

On the right, there's a control panel to be able to play/pause/etc. the music box. Above the control panel there's a row of numbers with symbols underneath some of them. That is the order you need to make sounds (and silence) in to win the level.

You can get bragging rights by clearing the level with certain conditions:

Perfect timing - Clear the level while making each noise (and silence) at the exact right step.

Perfect cycle - Clear the level with perfect timing, and also make the music box loop itself.

Limited pieces - Clear the level using very few pieces. The exact requirements depend on the level.

Try beating all the levels with all 3 bonus goals at once!
